Rev. Neva Joseph

For the last seven years, Neva has served as the Minister of Music for St. Matthew United Methodist Church. She has also been part of the Pastoral, Christian Education, Music, Evangelism, and Prayer and Fasting Ministries at her home church of Asbury United Methodist Church.

She holds a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary. Her life as a worshiper and passion as an educator led her to ministry of the Word of God and Music with the United Methodist Church as a Music Teacher with Shalom Zone, Inc, which was housed in First Street, Peck, Wesley United Methodist Church.

What began as an invitation to worship service led to her joining as the Director of Music and the rest is history. In addition to the 14 years spent as an educator in the state of Louisiana, her life has revolved around striving to serve the Kingdom of God. She began her first pastoral assignment on July 1, 2024 as the Pastor of Belle Chasse and historic Williams Ross United Methodist Churches.
